BACALAR SOUTH/CENOTES

The southern part of Bacalar features several cenotes, including Cenote Esmeralda, Cenote Azul, and Cenote Cocalitos. This area, located south of the town center, is primarily made up of eco-hotels and cabanas with a rustic, natural atmosphere. Many of these lagoon-front accommodations offer great swimming and kayaking while being outside the main town. It’s a more secluded and laid-back setting.

Like the northern accommodations, staying in the south requires a trip with into the town center for dining, shopping, and other amenities, making it a better fit for those who don’t mind a short ride for more options.
